I study economic development across the rural-urban continuum, primarily in the US, with special emphases on rural economies and human capital.  More specifically, I am interested in how postsecondary educational attainment connects to local economic development in the context of structural economic change.  I also explore how gender disparities in educational attainment relate to local economic well-being in urban and rural US counties.
