World Geography-World History TAKS Institutes
Over the last year, the Social Studies Center has sponsored numerous Institutes designed to prepare educators from across the state for the TAKS assessments in Social Studies. The Center organized five Institutes focused on the Grade 10 TAKS test and the correlations, connections, and commonalities between the World Geography and World History TEKS selected for assessment on the examination. These Institutes were offered in April, July, and October of 2002 and twice in June, 2003.
This web page provides some of the materials presented at the Institutes for you to download. It is available for educators who were not able to attend the Institutes and for educators interested in replicating aspects of the Institutes.
The framework is the agenda for the day. Scroll through the day's sessions to find materials of interest to you. The sessions focused on the twelve key themes identified in the TAKS Correlation Guide.
New items added in June 2003 appear in red.
