Developing Mapping and Graphing Skills: Australian Migration and Population Density

 

Teachers examine atlases to observe patterns in settlement and transportation.

This hands-on workshop session led by Fred Walk, Normal Community High School, Normal, Illinois, introduced participants to Activities and Readings in World Geography (ARGWorld). This new software currently in beta testing, features several activities on Australia, including the lesson modeled by Mr. Walk, on population density and migration patterns.Use of ARGWorld was granted with permission of Phillip Gersmehl and the Association of American Geographers.
